Hi magic :) sorry didn't see your post here before I posted mine- answer in their about SSL.

As far as which one is better lftp, pftp- I can't really say as very limited usage I have had with both, but right after opening pftp for the first time I was in love with it as the dual pane interface like ftprush, flashfxp :) .
lftp I do not know if it is capable of fxp as I have only used it to dl files.

Edit:
Thanks for the links. This hxxp://troubl.eu/?p=4 might just be the answer for all as he/she is still replying to post and working on a tutorial for it :) great

lftp is capable of fxp and there is a tutorial here http://tutorials.papamike.ca/pub/lftp.html
It is also still supported and has an active mailing list.

i was doing a script in perl for fxp and isn't that good. Ok, is good if you want to transfer small files, but large files dont know why isn't that good.
Isn't like pftp or flashfxp or ftprush that transfer from machine A to machine B. It takes lot of time reading the file that will transfer if it's too large or if it's a large folder.
Probably it was something wront in my script. Anyone can confirm that?

Hi coss :), that's great! No idea, but I would suggest posting in a Perl forum and http://pastebin.com your script for them to bug hunt and help you.  Love to hear about it once you have it sweet

Hi everybody,

I've successfully compiled ftp-shit 1.12, but somehow I'm stuck using it. Connecting to sites and browsing directories just works fine. However, when I try downloading something by pressing t, it just transfers single files inside a directory, not the directory itself. Any ideas how to fix this?
