█▌ - MASKING A FILE IN AN IMAGE - WINDOWS - █▌

█ The MEW image above is the example. It is an image and it is a rar file ▐▌
█ that contains files. To see for yourself, right click on the MEW image, ▐▌
█ select 'Save Image As', save it to your computer, change the extension ▐▌
█ png to rar; mewbies_concealed_files.png to mewbies_concealed_files.rar, ▐▌
█ then unrar it - extract the files. ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ HERE is a screen recording (.swf) of concealing files in an image. ▐▌

█ THIS IS HOW: ▐▌

█ For this example lets concatenate - conceal a .rar file, containing two ▐▌
█ text files, in an image. You can use WinZip or 7Zip for example. I'll use ▐▌
█ WinRar as I find some versions of WinZip won't read the resulting zip ▐▌
█ properly. ▐▌
█ 1. Make a directory on C drive named mewbies. Place in that directory ▐▌
█ an image; most formats work except .bmp. ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ 2. Zip up or Rar up the files you want to conceal and place the zip or rar ▐▌
█ in the mewbies directory. ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ 3. Launch a command prompt window: ▐▌
█ WINDOWS XP: ▐▌
█ Press the Window's Start button, then Run, then type in the Open drop ▐▌
█ down window: cmd ▐▌
█ Press OK ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ WINDOWS VISTA & 7: ▐▌
█ Press the Window's Start button/Start Search box/ type in the Open ▐▌
█ drop down window: cmd ▐▌
█ Press OK ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ Or either OS press the Windows logo key on your keyboard +r to launch Run, ▐▌
█ then type in the Open drop down window: cmd ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ 4. Change to the directory; type in then hit enter: cd C:\mewbies ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ 5. Type in, then hit enter: copy /b image.png+files.rar output.png ▐▌
█ For example mine is: ▐▌
█ copy /b mewbies.png+mewbies.rar mewbies_concealed_files.png ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ 6. This will create mewbies_concealed_files.png which can now be viewed / ▐▌
█ treated like any image. Or rename mewbies_concealed_files.png to ▐▌
█ mewbies_concealed_files.rar to extract the files. ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ NOTES: ▐▌
█ 1. Step 5 I have chosen to save the output image with a new name or it ▐▌
█ will overwrite my original mewbies.png ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ 2. If the files you are concealing are private then you should put a ▐▌
█ password on the zip or rar to extract the files. ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ 3. The larger the file size is that you are concealing, the larger the ▐▌
█ size of the image you should use - to make it not so obvious. ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ 4. This will not work on sites that actually rewrite the file you upload. ▐▌
█ For example FaceBook. ▐▌
█ ▐▌
█ 5. To enable pasting text into a cmd window; right click on top left ▐▌
█ corner of the window, select Properties/Options tab, under Edit ▐▌
█ Options select both 'QuickEdit Mode' & 'Insert Mode', press OK, select ▐▌
█ 'Save properties for future windows with same title'. To paste; right ▐▌
█ click in the window. ▐▌
█ ▐▌
